upstate: so many pilgrims

Paul and I pilgrimmaged to the Finger Lakes Garlic Festival Saturday — he shot all the photos, so stay tuned for those.

On our way to R-town where young O'Hanlon attended RIT, I couldn't resist a drive-by of the Mormon "mecca": The Hill Cummorrah, where JS found those darn golden plates just a stone's throw from home.

Paul introduced me to the wonder of Nick Tahou's "garbage plates" and then it was his turn for pilgrimmage: the legendary House of Guitars...

Garbage Plate: 2 pieces of your choice of meat (or 2 grilled cheese sandwiches) on top of home fries, macaroni salad and baked beans topped with onions, mustard and meat sauce. Shown: "hots" (as hot dogs are known up here) and taters garbage plate. Mmmmmm.

...Dorothy in Oz...

Paul says they've "really cleaned up" the music store section since he'd been there last!

What do you mean, you don't have the latest Atomic Bitchwax?!!!

Not sure how I got here. I was looking for apts in Brooklyn, was on Craig's list and must have done a google search for a rental agency or something, and click click click... imagine my surprise to happen upon pics of Rochester. Where I'm going trying to escape from... hehe Just thought it was funny and thought I'd pop a line.
