Hallmark moment

Walking from the 1/9 to the N/R via Times Square Station: A couple police men are waiting for a homeless man to clear his things from a busy walkway where he was panhandling. The man's kitten, who looked all of 2 months old, was wandering nearby. One of the police officers stooped to pet the kitten while they waited for the man, all while rush hour commuters blurred past. I wish wish wish I'd been able to photograph the tender look in that cop's eyes the needy little kitten soaked up his affection.
